Jide Tinubu Suddenly Collapsed And Died - Family Member



- Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, national leader of All Progressives Congress(APC) lost his first son, Jide, on Tuesday, October 31 

- The death was not announced till Wednesday, November 1 

- A close family member has revealed how Jide Tinubu died

A member of the Tinubu family has revealed the manner in which Jide Tinubu, first son of the APC national leader, Bola Tinubu, died. According to Daily Post, Jide suddenly collapsed and died from what was suspected to be a heart attack around 9pm on Tuesday, October 31. 

Jide, 43, an accomplished lawyer, was said to have complained of chest pain before he collapsed. “However, after the incidence, close family members rushed him down to hospital on Lagos Island where he was confirmed dead on arrival,” the unnamed family member said.

He added that the tragic news was kept secret because the APC national leader was in Abuja for the National Executive Committee meeting of his party. Chairman of APC in Lagos state, Otunba Henry Ajomale, was the one who confirmed Jide’s death in a short statement sent to party members on Wednesday, November 1. 

“It’s with regrets that I inform you of the demise of Mr. Jide Tinubu, the son of our dear and esteemed leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement sent via text message read. Prominent Nigerians have been sending condolence messages to Tinubu following the death of his death. 

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, has commiserated with Tinubu, over the death of Jide.

Chief press secretary, Terver Akase, Governor Ortom described the demise of the brilliant lawyer as quite shocking and painful.

He urged Nigerians of goodwill to remember the bereaved family in prayers. The governor expressed his deepest condolences to the Tinubu family and the entire people of Lagos state and prayed that God grant the soul of Jide Tinubu eternal rest and his family, friends and associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Also, President Muhammadu Buhari reached out to the APC national leader as he mourns his son. 

The president offered his condolences to the Tinubu family in a statement released on Wednesday, November 1, by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina; and also called the APC national leader on the phone, to commiserate with him over the unfortunate incident
