ASUU STRIKE UPDATE : Universities To Resume On Monday August 21st



The Academic Staff Union Of Universities ASUU, after hours of meeting with The Federal Government and all involved educational bodies has finally come to the conclusion that the on going strike will be called off on Monday 21st August 2017.

ASUU Dismiss Any Information Regarding The Union Suspend Strike On Monday
There was a trending News on the social media about ASUU to suspend its Union Strike on Monday 21st August.

The President of ASUU discharged an open letter reject any false information in regards to the Union suspend the strike.

Here is the full open letter by the ASUU President:

We have being duly informed that a purported rumour credited to ASUU National secretariat which stated that ASUU has instructed all its members and students to return to full academic activities next week is in circulation.

Please this information is totally false. The information is surely a gimmick used by the insensitive government, other disoriented Nigerians and politically hungry individuals to cause confusion amongst ASUU members and Nigeria students.

A meeting was held between the Minister of Labour, Minister of Education and representative of ASUU yesterday, thursday 17th of August which lasted for about 7 hours.

The meeting ended in a deadlock and there was no compromise on our demands. Talks with the relevant government agencies to resume next week.
Please disregard and dispel the rumour or any other information being circulated in the social media that all academic activities is to resume next week.
