Welcome to your natural home - Turaki reacts to mass defection from APC

Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigera (SAN) and presidential hopeful on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has heavily criticized the reported siege on the homes of Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu.

In a statement by Sola Atere, the director of media and publicity of his campaign organization, Turaki also welcomed those who defected from the National Assembly on Tuesday, July 24 to the PDP.

He noted that the defection gives the PDP a clear majority at the Senate.

The statement further said Turaki, who described the development as the beauty of democracy, heartily welcomed the senators back to their ‘natural home’.

According to him, the return of the lawmakers to PDP will further strengthen the resolve of the party to rescue Nigerians from what he called an era of nepotistic by the APC and its government.

He also noted that there is poverty, insecurity, killings and economic str*ngulation in the country.

He believes that the siege on the homes of the two top legislators was meant to put them under house arrest illegally by security agents.

“This is clearly a dangerous attempt to truncate Nigeria’s democracy,” he said.

eagleee.com earlier reported that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) warned against any action from Nigeria’s security agencies that could be seen as injurious to the country’s democracy.

It spoke in reaction to the siege on the homes of Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, the president of the Senate and his deputy, respectively.
