As shared by Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) crime reporter, Mr. Festus Alenkhe on his Facebook page, 4 suspects alleged to have assassinated Prof. Paul Otasowie of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Benin have been nabbed by men of the Edo State Police Command. The suspects were arrested in Benin city following a police tip off.
It was revealed that the suspects who stormed the deceased house around 7.30 pm intercepted him at the entrance of his house while driving in. They however shot him dead on the spot as they claimed that the professor threw away the car key when they requested for it.
The suspects also killed a middle age man in a petrol station along Ekenwan Road in Benin during one of their armed robbery operations. All the 4 suspects are not students as they have no O'level certificate to even proceed with their education. Police described them as "vicious criminals" that will be diligently prosecuted.
