Breaking: New SGF resumes work, officially meets Buhari

Boss Mustapha, the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) has officially resumed work less than 24 hours after he was named as a replacement for Babachir Lawal.

Lawal was finally fired on Monday, October 30, months after the Senate indicted him in a probe of the funds meant for the North East ravaged by Boko Haram insurgents.

After he was named the new SGF, Mustapha had joined chieftains of All Progressives Congress (APC) for a national caucus meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Ado Rock Presidential Villa.

President Buhari sacked suspended secretary to the government of the federation, Babachir Lawal, and former director-general of National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke.

Femi Adesina, presidential spokesperson announced this on twitter and Facebook on Monday, October 30. The president also appointed Boss Mustapha as the new SGF. The All Progressives Congress also said that the party has been vindicated following the sack of Babachir Lawal, the former secretary to the government of the federation.

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the APC national publicity secretary, on Monday, October 30, in Abuja said that President Muhammadu Buhari had done the needful by sacking the embattled SGF.
